"GREEKS ARE NOT LAZY"
Helena Paparizou defended the Greek people in an interview on the news of the Swedish TV (SVT).
Helena participated to the biggest TV show of Sweden, called Melodifestivalen, where the song which will represent the country in Eurovision was chosen.
During her rehearsals she had an interview on the news and of course she was asked about the financial crisis of Greece.
Helena answered directly and spontaneously as always. Some of her answers were:
-First of all, everybody is asking me if I would come back to Sweden because of the crisis. The answer is No. The next question is always “Greeks are lazy and they don’t want to work, right?”. No, Greeks are not lazy. They work a lot of hours, 12 per day. They start working in the morning and they go home at 10-11 in the night.”
-“I would prefer the government to respect, that people must not loose everything. Because a lot of them will loose everything they have. I am afraid that the middle class will die and that in the future there will be too rich and too poor people.”
The one and only Helena filled the stadium with energy and power singing the last year’s song of Sweden for EUROVISION , the song "Popular", in a cabaret cover. During her performance, people responded with a great excitement through social media where the name “Helena Paparizou” became instantly a trending topic.
