Elena Paparizou is nominated by the European union, MTV and Billboard !!

Sunday 21st of January in Cannes took place the nomination of the European border breakers awards. The European Union nominated 10 new European artists who succeeded with their debut album, to make a success beyond the boarders and made an impact in other European countries as well.

It is the first time that a Greek artist is nominated with such an important European award. The award is given in order to express the importance of the spread of music and culture of each country, in the rest of the European countries and beyond. The nomination took place during the Midem, with the presence of Jan Figel (cultural commissioner) and Odile Quintin (head of culture and educationin the commission), cultural ministers from several European countries and the representatives of discography.

Elena Paparizou received the award from Mr. Jan Figel. She thanked everyone that helped to her success till now in her career and she promised even more creative thing in the future. Furthermore she made an excellent impression to everyone by performing the last hit with the title ‘Teardrops’ from the new album with English lyrics. Elena won the European border breakers award for her album success "My number one" (European version of the album "Protereotita") The ceremony was transmitted live by MTV Europe. Later on, she gave an interview to the journalists and she talked about her new album "The game of love" which is launched in several European American and Asian countries. Furthermore she talked about her future plans. We have to underline that the song "Mambo" which is included in the album "The game of love" was in top 10 of the British club charts. That means that more awards are coming for Elena Paparizou.
